Jas works at the intersection of science and technology, governance, policy, international diplomacy and operations, with a passion for work that calls for collaborative approaches to difficult problems – particularly in complex stakeholder environments.
Jas has worked in Australian higher education and government in senior leadership roles across STEM operations, governance and communication and international science diplomacy, including with United Nations Specialized Agencies and the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, representing Australia.
As Director of Provenance Consulting she works across research and academia, building and realising solutions that grow understanding and engagement across all stakeholders. Jas brings knowledge and connections across research and education partners, school communities, government, business, peak bodies and funding mechanisms to the discussion. Jas is able to communicate complex topics, maintaining the integrity of the scientific message while finding connection points with broad audiences. Jas works to a philosophy that she believes yields the best results for her clients. Her style is welcoming, highly collaborative and inclusive, dedicated to integrity, quality and transparency and cultivates innovation.
Jas is a marine science and communications graduate. She serves as Secretary to Science & Technology Australia and Chair of the Sydney Institute for Marine Science Foundation. She has Chaired the NSW Executive Committee for National Science Week and Inspiring Australia since 2012 on behalf of the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer.
