Sue continues her commitment to science, leadership, diversity and equity through multiple national and international leadership, board, advisory and mentoring roles across science, maths, technology and education sectors, including as Chair of Australia’s Marine National Facility Steering Committee.
Over a long and diverse career culminating as the Bureau of Meteorology’s Chief Scientist, Sue led and mobilised national and international outcomes in climate science, climate policy, integrated earth observations, data infrastructure and data policy.
Sue brought her inclusive cross-sector and multidisciplinary approach, spanning all Earth-system domains, to the early high-level international planning group that shaped the UN Decade on Ocean Science.
