Ocean Decade Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation with a vision of achieving a sustainable ocean future for all Australian Stakeholders.
Our Mission
Established in 2021, our mission is to connect Australia's Ocean Stakeholders through knowledge, networking and learning, towards achieving ocean health and wealth for generations to come.
Ocean Decade Australia enables inclusive and cross-sectoral national dialogue for Australia's diverse ocean stakeholders to consider and discuss what success looks like, and how it might be implemented and measured for a sustainable ocean future.
How we Work
At the heart of our mission is collaboration with diverse stakeholders spanning government, business, communities, Indigenous peoples, youth and research institutions. As a non-for-profit organisation, we provide an independent platform for discussion across sectors.
One of our key initiatives involves mapping our impact to the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (UNDOS) goals, ensuring alignment with global objectives, and tracking progress towards achieving shared targets. Additionally, we produce comprehensive reports that document our activities, outcomes and contributions to advancing ocean science and sustainability.
These valuable initiatives support stakeholders, policymakers, and the broader public, providing insights into our collective efforts and guiding future actions.
